INS can not deny your cases without a good reason. If they deny your I-485 simply because of WOM, you can appeal, and they will be fired.

Recently 8 US attorneys were fired already for their wrong doing, that should teach them a lesson. Even Mueller is in trouble:

You should not give up, at least fight to discovery stage.
