Here's my case: I worked for Company A for 2 years on H-1B status then went to Company B and transferred my H-1B. The new I-797 says my "extension" has been approved and new I-94 says I can stay until the end of 5th year. The lawyer said I don't need to renew my H-1B until the end of 5th year, rather than the 3rd year in normal cases.
Is this true? Just want to double check here so I don't get screwed. Thanks a lot.
