博士後轉工業界，可否用I485的EAD補H1b簽證gap？

H1b簽證10月才生效，要想在此前工作，可否采用如下方式：
file I485 & EAD (I140 EB1a pending), and then work with EAD

具體怎樣做最好？可否現在僅file我本人485&EAD，family members滯後？
這樣減少I140被據的risk. 多謝指點。
