B2 VISA

My parents just got their b2 VISA, which is a great thing. My mom was only granted 2 month of stay, while my dad got 6 month. How can I have my mom get 6 month of stay too? Shall prepare any letter for my parents to show to the officers at the port of entry? What shall I say in the letter then? Thanks a lot!
