EAD is employer independent, TN is employer specific

When you file 485, you can file applications for Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and Advance Parole (AP) at the same time. You'll get EAD and AP within 90 days.

EAD is employer independent, TN is tied to a specified employer, both are valid for one year (renewable).

H1, TN are just work visas, not related to immigration. I140, I485 are different stages of immigration processes. You can only file EAD, AP applications with or after 485.

Your wife can keep using TN while you have 140 and 485 pending. You can file a 485 for your wife with yours at the same time too.
