I have checked all the infomation in the board about the application of ITIN for parents, but it seems that you can get ITIN for your parents when they are in US. But my parents-in-law left last Oct. They did stay here for more than 183 days.
1) Can I still claim them as dependents for tax deduction for 2006?
2) Can I still apply a ITIN for them even they are not in US?
3) I don't have any materials for their information, such as passport and visa. The IRS website says a notarized copy of passport is fine. Is a notarized copy in China fine since they are in China now?
4) Any other materials should be notarized, such as, I-94, passport, visa, or air tickets? or anything else?
Many thanks.
