You can use H-1 to study for a degree

You can study a degree with H-1B status, even full time. USCIS will never check if you are studying a degree with H-1B, However, you need to work and get paid as H-1B petition proposed. L-1 should also work. You cannot apply for F-1 visa or status after filing I-140/485. Good luck
