NIW 485 Pending, H1b status, have EAD unused, if lay off

My status is H1b now. NIW 485 pending and I've got my EAD card. If I am laid off, what are the options? Is there a time limit to use my EAD card to find a new job? Can I still use H1b transfer? Thanks in advance,
