question about H-1b & Freelance project

Thanks for checking this post. Currently I am working with a H1b visa for one company. Some friend recommenend me to one star-up organization for some freelance project. May I take this job and get paid? As I understand about the H1b visa, I can't work for other companies with this vias. So if I want to get paid for the project, do I have to apply another H1b visa for that job? The problem is that this star-up organization is only on the paper now and it kinds of depending on the success of my project. So, what can I do? Thank you for any suggestions.
