question about "defendant's motion to dismiss"

the judge order that:
"it is further ordered that defendant shall file a responsive pleading within 20 days of the filing of the amended complaint or, if plaintiff does not file an amended complaint, within 45 days of the filling date of this order"
the plaintiff filed an amended complaint on time. now defendant file the "defendant's motion to dismiss". Is this "a responsive pleading " or a now motion? I am confused. Thanks!
