3. F2 TO F1
• The applicant is not eligible to begin studies until the F1 status has been approved. In fact, some Service Centers will deny a F2 – F1 change of status petition if the applicant is enrolled in courses prior to adjudication.
Going abroad to get F1 visa stamp is faster, but risky.
