your advice is appreciated

I just checked the web and my H1B and my wife's H4 have been approved yesterday. I would like to sincerely thank anyone who has kindly provide valuable information regarding my case, espcially Wojian, Fanlaw etc. They information has helped me stay in track of the right direction toward successful outcome.

Second, I have some more questions that I would appreciate any help from anyone to give me answers to. I would list my situation in the following:
1. 2nd year PhD student quitting the program now.
2. Currently getting paychecks for Teaching assistant job
So what steps should I take to make the transition. Should I tell the International office first and the department? Should I tell the human resources department so that they can adjust the payroll?

Any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
