I am in H1B and filed for transferring to F1 in Spring 2007. My application was received on Nov. 13 by USCIS. The school starts on Jan. 16. Is it possible to get my F1 approved before the school starts? If not, can I register some courses as H1B?

When should I stop working? The day my case status changes on USCIS web site or the day I receive the offical approval notice?
