I have H1B and never go outside of the contry. If I apply H1 in Mexico and if I am denied, can I still comeback with my current H1 visa?

I know one guy was denied in Canada, he had to go home country although his wife and house are in America. But, his problem is out of status over 180 days. So, if you have not any problem, you will be ok.
