I have been traveling between US and China under H-1B for multiple times and never had any problems, but my major is MBA. H-1B allows dual intent so technically it's hard for them to deny you the visa. I did all my visa interviews in Shanghai and they never lasted more than 2 minutes. So you shouldn't worry.
