I've been search the web about this but am not quite sure how to deal with this messy situation. Seeking advice from the experts here.
My situation: Canadian citizen, joining US university as tenure-track faculty this fall, university will sponsor EB-1b green card application. Planning to marry a F1, and hoping obtain EAD before his OPT expires (probably around fall 2006).At the same time, we'd also like to have as much time to plan our wedding as possible.
My problems:
1. Should I apply for I-140 and I-485 concurrently? Will it affect my TN renewal?
2. If I apply for I-140 and I-485 concurrently, do I need to get married before I file the applications? Can I still wait for the I-140 approval before holding the wedding?
3. If I apply for I-140 first and then I-485, could we still get the EAD before fall 2006?
Please advice! I would really appreciate you guys' opinions.
TN, I-140, I-485, wedding
