Getting into Canada without Maple card? Using landing paper?

Does anybody know if I can get into Canada using the paper they stapled on my passport when I first landed to Canada, since my maple card is in my friend's home and I did not ask him to send to me, because I heard that FedEx will be checked and will be stopped if they find there is a government doc inside the envelop.


That landing paper stapled on my passport is said can be used when I drive my own car to Canada from U.S.A. But I am not sure when it will expire and not able to be used?
