I applied for green card based on marriage. I already went for the interview on 8/3/06. During the interview, the officer asked me if I had any problem with INS, I said no. But he mentioned the thing in year 2000. Then I recalled that I once worked for a company while holding F-1 visa. INS checked the employer and asked all the employees to go to the INS for questioning about the employer. I went there too. They took my photo and fingerprinted. I guess that is why the officer asked me if I had any immigration problem. Then he told me that he could verify the truth of my marriage but he needed some other department to check if the case (year 2000) ended. He put a pending remark on my passport and told me that my case should be solved within 45 days. Also he took my original I-94 and stapled it with my file. Is that normal or no? But so far I did not receive anything from local office yet. Do you think that my case will be denied because of this? Working without proper work permeit.
Thanks for your help.
