請教小白兔: withdraw I485 and re I485

Because I re-enter US by F1 visa, my I485 may be considered as abandon. If I withdraw my original I485 and another I485 application, is there any effect on my new application? Is there any limit for this situation?

Another question: if I used my EAD to work which is expired now and new EAD hasn't been got, work during gap will have trouble, won't it? Lawyer said that it was OK since less than 6 months gap was OK for petitioner legally. Is it true?
