It seems Americans r not very happy with this number.

a few days ago, ABC news compared the American fertility rate with other western countries, japan and sigapore. Fertility of USA is 2.1 which is higher than those of the above mentioned countries whcih r under 2. And they also analyzed the reasons why american would like to have second child.
It will probably influnce the decision makers on future immigration policy potencially.
