As far as I know, you are ok to keep your PR status as long as you are accompanying a citizen. However, in order to qualify for citizenship, you still need to stay in Canada 3 of 4 years physically. Again, you should contact CIC or at least read up on their website to confirm the information. Although information provided here is helpful, I wouldn't totally reply on it.
