No, it is not true

My H-1B extension ted before it is expired from school, but did not get receipt notice before the old one expired, so I use EAD for 2.5 month, and then I got my H-1B notice after I used my EAD for 2.5 month, and last week, my official H-1B extension approval also arrived. So, Now I have new H-1B and EAD

I guess it depends on INS check up, since I the extension within the required date before the expiration, I don't see why they will not give me extension, they will not know if you have used your EAD working or not. It all depends on your school, if you use EAD, they may want to save time not to issue your H-1B extension. I didn't tell my school that I have EAD, it is their problem not the extension far in advance. Now I have double protection think
