Landing Canada question

I got my Canadian green card a few months ago. I have to land Canada in November. Due to some difficulties, I can't or don't want to land in November. If I don't land before my landing deadline, what will happen? Can I extend my landing deadline? What can I do to save my green card? If my landing (green card) expires this time, can I apply it later if needed?
