急!急!急! - Experts please help!

H1B expired today and my lawyer told me that they forgot to renew it. They promised me to renew it through the premium process. However, it will take 15 calendar days.

Would you please kindly tell me whether I need to leave the country during the renew process and whether I need to reapply the visa outside of the States? Thanks a lot for the help.
