How to handle my I-485?

我們於一個月前搬到了香港。當時４８５在pending， 也知道不久就會批的。但是即便拿到綠卡，我們一樣會離開美國。到那時， 保綠卡很麻煩。

果然，現在移民局通知要補充材料，我們估計是要工作證明 或 人在美國的證明。請教：我們如何回答, 是要求暫停？ 還是撤銷？還是其他？之所以為難，是想到將來孩子也許會去美上學 或工作。我們不想因為處理不當而給孩子的將來帶來麻煩 或得象我們重頭再來。 謝謝各位的input!
