xiaobaitu, mytwocents, please help

I filed a NIW case last year 9/28/05. I checked
I checked my status online recently, USCIS said that they sent a RFE to my lawyer
on 08/15/06. However, he has not received anything.
Since 30 days have passed, my lawyer suggested that I should go to see
a IO at local office through infopass, and I went this moring, they were not helpful at
all. The IO suggested I write a letter to request a copy send to me,
which I did today. I also called USCIS 1-800 number, they are going to
send another copy to me, so my question is Am I too late to respond
RFE? I realized I have 87 days to respond, now I only have about 50
days and I haven't received anything yet.

Is it sensible to send whatever I have as RFE response blindly in case
I won't received anything before due date?
