If you chose to inform them, Pros: it shows honesty and may clear the matter once for all. Cons: Possibly the DAO who processed ur case does not understand the situation and find u unlawful presence, or hold off processing the case until he or she understands it better.

It depends on your personal preference by analyzing the risks involved. But I would never count on other people to make decision for me as none of them are actually working for USCIS or even if they work for USCIS, they may not be the one who processes ur case.
