Child can still get GC (and you can, too if divorce and return to China after 485 approval)
if the H1 is the child's biological father. But if child is H1's step-son
then son's GC chance ends with the divorce too.
But the problem is you and son need to travel to US and stay for some months every year in order to keep GC. If you and son are to live in China for a long run, there's no need to get GC. GC has no use to people who stay in China most of the time. And his
father can easily file for him again when as US citizen before son turns 21.
