just personal opinion: clearly evaluate yourself. read as more successful reference letter templates as possible. draft your letter strictly according to the CIS requirements. revise the letters as many times as possible even you will vomit on it:) until you feel you are so great (quotate of one of my friens)

petion letter is important as claimed by many people. my lawyer did not let clients see the petion. so I do not knwo how it is.

one point I think may be useful: I made an excerpt of the good words from the reference letters, and organized according to the requirements of the CIS (because I drafted all the letters, I had already had a picture in mind of what to do later).

according to my laywer, letter from an organization is important. Although I did not agree much, still right before the deadline, I got one. Very much painful of asking around from people you do not know.

lesson: do not trust anybody, only youself will do your help.
