But remebmer, once the kid is in the US, I-824 is no longer available. U must file 130 and wait for the PD to be current then to file 485 for him. It could take 4-7 years for the PD to become current for filing his 485.

The advantage for 824 is the PD tags along with ur hu*****and's I140. Although the visa process takes several months to 1 year, its the fast way to get immigrat to US.
