I had the same situation with you last year.
We got the visa in Paris.
BTW, be careful with your insurance records(Maybe you need to show it to your new insurance company.) . It is better for you to keep your insurence period longer, at least till the day you enter USA. Otherwise, the Pregenecy of your wife will be treated as Pre-existing condition and you have to pay a lot of money for the delivery
