As long as u still have a valid H1 or any kind of legal status when u filed 485, the chance of getting a LPR is still good.
If u answered :w/ worked w/o authorization" NO when u filed 485 & u did not get an interview & no RFE for employment info, u may get it as the gap may never be spotted in ur documents ted.
USCIS had granted LPR to people w/o 245(i).
however, if u got an interview, and the same question was asked again and u answered NO and u did work w/o Au, might have a problem.
Sometimes,it's pure LUCK.
If 485 denied, always talk w a lawyer who could tell u w/ the denial is reasonable. An appeal may still save u.
