I would suggest you do not make any change. The worset thing is to mess up with INS.

Most people work for INS are under qualify, if you confused them, they may lost your file intentionally or not intentionally (because they do not want others to know they are incompetent so they simply dump your case into a garbage can and forget it, or they do not know what to do with the change case issue, they may try to transfer you file to some other department then the file get lost), at the best case, your case will be greatly delayed, months or years, you never know.
