re-entry from Canada

I have a very important question. Any real knewledgable person please answer me.

The question is:

Can I re-entry from Canada with a valid I-94 and expired advance parole?

My last entry to US was with advance parole, but this davance parole was expired after one year valid time. I have submitted renewal application but have not received any response from USICS. But I have something to do in canada, I must travel to canada recently. So I am very worried about the re entry problem.

The experienced person 's answer will be very appreciated.
