Xiao Bai Tu: Should I use EAD?

Maybe it is an old question, could you help to answer.

My H1B is approved and will start from October 2006. My OPT will expire on August 31 2006. I just got notice that my EAD(come with my 485 application) is also approved this week.

Can I use this EAD during September? If I use EAD, my H1-B will be cancled or not? What is the pros and cons for using EAD vs. H1-B.

I know it is an old qeustion, could you answer or point to where I could find the answer.
