question for coming back from canada, urgent

my friend is in opt right now. he is a landed immigrant in canada. he will have an interview in usa. is it possible for him to come back in opt by visa revalidation policy? or any idea can help him?

if he cannot, anybody know what will happen and how he take greyhound or other bus back to Toronto in custom because he will take greyhound to usa?

thanks for any suggestions.
