please help about traveling to Canada

I am H1-B and I ted I-485. My old AP is expired and new one is not ready yet. I need to travel to Cananda every week (Monday to Friday) from next week. Please help me on the following questions:

1. Can I leave US without AP?
2. Do I need to apply for H1-B in canada?
