EAD

My EAD application (I485-based) has been pending for 87 days. I don't understand why mine takes so long. What if I can't get the approval after 90 days? Some people say that I can apply for an interim EAD, some people say I can't since the procedure has been changed. What could I do? Could anybody help? Thanks a lot.
