Please help! Questions about EAD renewal and H1B transfer

I am currently working at a university with H1B. I have the EAD (NIW, CSC, I140 approved, I485 pending), but never used it.

Now, I have a chance to work at a company (I am the top candidate), but I am worrying about my work permit. Here are my questions.

1. Is it possible to transfer my H1B from university to company? The comapny is willing to sponsor H1B, but I know I can not apply for a new H1B because the cap for 2007 has been reached.

2. My EAD will expire in the late of this month. In June 2006, I ted the form to renew it, but it's still pending now. I went to the local office two days ago, but was told that I cannot get an interim EAD until middle of September. Is there anybody who has the similar experience? Anyone know how to get the new EAD (or interim EAD) before the current one expires?
