how to interprete the processing date?

my I-485 recipt date was Oct. 2004, from the USCIS site, the processing date for I-485 employee based cases from NSC is Nov, 2005. We had finger print 5 months ago, but have no update since then. Anybody has same situation? How to understand the processing date on the website? Thanks
