Usually J have a month of grace time. She can use the grace time if you does not change to H1 before the end of grace time.
The other option is to file H4 to fill the gap. The H4 does not need to be approved. The filing is used for filling the gap. She needs a receipt of H4 applction when filing H1 application to prove the continuity of her status.
