I called DOS today about the cut off date

I asked about the unused visa numbers for China EB. And how will USCIS act to avoid waste these visa numbers. The representative told me that DOS will try to use up all the visa numbers.

Then I asked the representative: if many of those cases with early PD got stuck in labor or 140, will DOS try to make the cut off date current so the visa number will be available for people who are ready to get their status adjusted, and he said yes!

I really don't think backlog elimination should influence the cut off date for the rest of this year (august and september). Because those cases, even they got approved with labor, they still need to go through 140/485, so they won't be able to use this year's visa number anyhow. And the visa numbers this year can only possibly be given to those already be in 485 status.

I might call again tomorrow. And I also think people here (who care about the cut off dates) should call DOS too. Just let them know that we know there are many people waiting for those visa numbers, and we don't want any of them wasted! And tell them we are WATCHING!
