name check through Beijing Consular?

Write to senator office and asked for expediting name check two days ago. Got a call back today (very efficient!!!) and was told that they can not help with expediting name check. Well, that was expected. So I asked them to initiate a status inquiry. To my surprise, the lady who called me said they will put an inquiry to Beijing Consular. I told her that background check is handled by FBI, but she said that has to go through Beijing consular and FBI needs results from them too. Sounds like she knows the whole procedure so I didn’t challenge her further.

Dos anyone know if that is true? I though everybody get response from FBI through senator inquiry. Did I miss something? Just heard about that for the first time. So….
