I have some questions regarding my H1B status -
1) My regular LC was filed in January 2004, but I have not received the 45 day letter so far. I've been on H1B since June 1999, my current H1B is valid from June 2006 to June 2007.
My questions are - can I still work for another company at this point provided this company is willing to sponsor H1B? If I switch to H4, would I still be subject to the 6 years limit? I may face a layoff.
2) The company I work for has recently sold part of its business to another company, if I join that new company, any implications on my H1B? can I still use my current H1B? is there any procedures that I have to go through? Would my LC application still be valid?
