link another I140 to I-485 seems not to be a problem. my personal suggestion is not neccessary to do, but you can try.
Based on:
2. 18 publications including 4 first author and 2 senior author.
(modest)
3. reviewer for international journal.
(basically, requested for EB1a )
4. Recent publication was reported by many medias.
(media report is very strong evedence for EB1a)
5. membership (you may metion it, but don't consider it as a benchmark)
you have chance to try. It really depends your luck. Recently, a lot of people change from NIW to EB1a. also many of them get RFE.
generally, the supporting letter for EB1a is conciser than NIW. your case looks average within EB1a applicants. anyway, you can try. good luck
