Recent years, unless you are high-profile people, or you made news in your hometown when you applied asylum, otherwise, Chinese government usually has no interest in you. After all, over 60 thousand Chinese got GC under Chinese student protection order(asylum category due to 6-4). What you should worry about is US immigration, because to get GC and especially to get US citizenship, you need to report where you were the past years. If you don't have a good reason to explain why you could return to and from China with no problem, DHS may investigate you.
