File I-539 to extend/change your child's nonimmigrant status. You also should provide your H1b information.

Before the approval of your I-485, it is best to keep the no immigrant status if you could, although you can also caterize as I-485 pending. Only $200 for double safety, why not? For me, I apply my family's H4 when I changed my job.
