A question on H4 renew

I am going to renew my H1B visa. My wife is currently holding H4. At the same time she is working using her EAD (Employment Authorization Document). She got EAD because we submitted our I-485 for the green card. I heard she can not renew her H4 because she has used her EAD with 485 pending. Is it true? Can I renew H4 for my wife? Thanks a lot.
