Need original I797, not I129.

You need to find out who submitted the petition for you. The ISO or HR ? Normally, they will retain your original I797 and give you a photocopy. You need to check out the original I797 from them and tell them what you want to do. They wiil ask you to return it after you are done.

The I129 is the application form for H1B. The original form is in USCIS, you don't need that. However, you can ask for a photocopy of your petition package including the I129, your resume, your diploma, and a statement explaining why you are qualified for this position(this is your H1B petition package).
