You mean AFTER getting the receipt?

I thought usually they cash the checks first...I might be wrong,since this is the first time for me to appliy I-485, but I notice no matter for LC or I-140 they cash first...
Would you please confirm? I am just afraid that my documents might lost in USCIS...that will be nightmare...
